Fiona was a fantastic trainer—engaging, knowledgeable, and very effective in getting everyone involved without ever being intimidating. She created a comfortable atmosphere that encouraged participation and interaction, which really helped reinforce the key concepts of the training. Everything was delivered clearly, with practical relevance, and I genuinely felt refreshed and more confident by the end of the day. The trainer, Paul was calm, amusing when required, thoughtful, honest, knowledgeable, professional and an excellent communicator. I felt that he kept our attention and interest. The demonstrations (hands on!) of how to hoist were really memorable and I left at the end of the day very uplifted and keen to join the profession. Who is this course for?

This 2-day course, delivered by a certified MHFA England instructor, will qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider. You will come away from this course with: -

• An in-depth understanding of Mental Health + the factors that can affect wellbeing
• Practical skills to spot the triggers + signs of Mental Health issues
• Confidence to step in + support a person in distress, using the MHFA action plan
• Knowledge to help someone recover their health, by guiding them to support
• An understanding of how to keep themselves safe while performing their duties

Course Content

Learning takes place across four manageable sessions, through a mix of interactive group activities, presentations and discussions.

• Session 1 Mental Health First Aid, mental health + depression
• Session 2 Depression (cont.) + suicidal crisis
• Session 3 Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders + self harm
• Session 4 Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder
