Course Introduction: 10:30 - 10:45 (15 minutes)
Session 1: 10:45 - 13:00 (135 minutes)
- Update knowledge on national vaccine policies, schedules, legislation + guidance
- Recap your responsibilities as a vaccination provider
- Demonstrate the steps required prior to, during and post vaccination administration
- Demonstrate how to administer vaccinations safely
- Describe how to store and supply vaccinations
- Refresh knowledge on Anaphylaxis awareness, treatment + Basic Life Support
- Describe the supervisory role and how to successfully delegate
Session 2: 13:30 - 14:45 (75 minutes)
- Demonstrate how to recognise and manage anaphylaxis
- Demonstrate how to safely and effectively perform basic life support
Session 3: 14:45 - 16:45 (120 minutes)
- Describe effective communication methods with patients, parents and carers and other relevant people about immunisation
- Demonstrate how to reconstitute and administer vaccines correctly
- Delegate assessments - Intramuscular and Subcutaneous Injections
Course summary: 16:45 - 17:00 (15 minutes)
Please note - morning and afternoon refreshment breaks will be given at a natural stopping point within a given session.
