Bild ACT, in partnership with RRN Training Standards and NHSE, released the following statement on 21st September 2023:
"(PMVA) Refresher training without proof of full initial training provided by a CTS (Certified Training Service) is not acceptable." - Bild ACT

This course has been specifically designed to help healthcare professionals meet their statutory restrictive training requirements, with a primary focus on agency healthcare workers and recruitment agencies in the UK!
HealthTrust Europe (HTE) and Workforce Alliance have updated the training criteria for temporary staff working in specialist commissioned healthcare provisions, stating that all Restrictive training from 1st January 2023 must be delivered by a Certificated Training Service, aligned to the RRN Training Standards.
During the course, candidates will refresh their knowledge of key theoretical modules in primary and secondary interventions and demonstrate their ongoing competency with a variety of practical Breakaway and Physical Intervention skills.
The Health & Safety Group is currently the only provider offering nationwide Bild Certified PMVA open courses suitable or accessible for agency healthcare workers to attend!
Who can attend this course?
The Health & Safety Groups’ 1-day PMVA refresher course has been certified by BILD ACT as suitable for the education, health, and social care sectors, providing services for:

To attend this course, as per RRN Training Standards, candidates will need to meet certain pre-requisites. Read about candidate pre-requisites here.
Candidates can only attend this 1-day refresher course if they have a valid (in-date) 3-5-day Bild ACT Certified PMVA training certificate.
When booking this course, candidates will select the correct level of training from a detailed Training Needs Analysis (TNA). We then customise the training day to meet candidate requirements, ensuring total training compliance!
Under the Use of Force Act 2018, all PMVA training delivered to staff providing care to those within mental health, healthcare, social care, and education settings, must be aligned to the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards.
Between 2013 to 2019 several high-profile cases were identified that involved unnecessary and dangerous use of restrictive physical intervention skills within healthcare settings. As a result, the NHS commissioned the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) to develop appropriate restrictive practice training standards, focusing on prevention, de-escalation, and human rights.
Bild ACT are currently the only UKAS certified provider of the RRN training standards to certify organisations, such as The Health & Safety Group, as being aligned to the RRN Training Standards.

Due to the physical nature of the course, certain restrictions have been put in place for candidate safety. All candidates must be able to lower to the floor and rise unaided. We cannot accept any pregnant candidates on the course and post-natal learners should seek advice from their GP prior to attendance.
